.comPassion

July 3, 2011
Are all corporations evil?  Can you name any corporations that are informed by compassion?
I can. I’ve now worked for two world-class companies that unite their assets and a compassionate soul, their .comPassion, to help transform:

  • People (careers/lives)
  • Organizations
  • The world
Both organizations lower the barrier to access to their game-changing technology.  Both work tirelessly to assure nonprofit success as a way of strengthening communities and enabling positive social change.  Here’s a little intro to what three .comPassionate organizations offer the world.
LinkedIn for Good:  An initiative that enables-
  • LinkedIn members (You’ll soon be able to track and manage your volunteering in your LinkedIn profile).
  • Nonprofit organizations (501c3′s in the US can receive a dramatic discount on LinkedIn’s enterprise recruiting solutions.  This is my area.).
  • LinkedIn employees to make positive social change (LinkedIn employees are pursuing some exciting better world projects).

Salesforce.com Foundation:  An organization that directs salesforce.com’s-

  • People,
  • Product and
  • Capital to nonprofits and B Corp’s to enable their work thereby strengthening communities.

Belief Energy:  A conversation about optimal living in three contexts:

  • Self
  • Tribe
  • World

The .comPassion I’ve witnessed, embodied and amplified at salesforce.com and LinkedIn Corp raise my Belief Energy.  I’m excited to see these two companies continue to raise the bar for all corporations.  I’m also excited to see the reach of the Belief Energy conversation continue to grow.

Assignment:

  • Think about all the companies you admire.
  • Are they informed by .comPassion?
  • Refer nonprofits to LinkedIn Nonprofit Solutions if you know they’re hiring or recruiting board members, staff or volunteers.
  • Discuss Belief Energy with other game-changers that you know and love.

Bryan, great post. Did you coin .ComPassion? Love it… You should make a t-shirt to propel the movement forward.
